Briefly: Keith Urban, Ricky Skaggs, Guy Clark
"We are very happy to be back in Australia," said a joint statement issued by the couple today (6/19). "We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends."
The Associated Press reports that the wedding is set for Sunday in a suburb north of Sydney.
The Nashville Tennessean reports that a man was struck and killed Friday (6/16) by a tour bus carrying bluegrass artist Ricky Skaggs .
The man reportedly was struck by the fast-moving bus while was walking on a highway from the direction of the Bonnaroo festival site in Manchester, TN.
"Preliminary information does not indicate any wrongdoing on the part of the bus driver," a Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesperson told the newspaper.
When the accident took place, Skaggs and his band, Kentucky Thunder, apparently were headed back to Nashville after performing at Bonnaroo.
Country legend Guy Clark will issue his 10th studio album, "Workbench Songs," on Sept. 19.
The set, Clark's first for Dualtone Records, features tracks written by the singer/songwriter/guitarist with Rodney Crowell, Steve Nelson, Verlon Thompson, Gary Nicholson, Lee Roy Parnell and Darrell Scott, among others.
"I used to write by myself all the time. And I still like doing it," Clark said in a press release. "But I find one thing that comes out of co-writing is you have to say the words out loud in the air. It has to become aural. You can sit here all day and mumble lyrics to yourself and think, 'Oh man that's great.' But the minute you say them out loud and hear them on your eardrums it's like, 'Oh …' It cuts out a lot of bulls--- of just sitting there fooling yourself for two or three days."
