This page is an incomplete list of proposed mergers. Anyone may list any article merger proposal here. This is optional, and it does not replace any of the other steps in the merger process. Please add the appropriate merger tag(s) to the articles before listing them here. See Category:Merge by month for all pages needing to be merged.

In general, this page should be used primarily to solicit outside feedback regarding mergers (particularly those of a controversial nature), or assistance with difficult or complicated mergers. Brief replies may be posted here, but lengthy discussions should be confined to the talk pages of the articles involved. After articles are merged (or a consensus that the articles should not be merged is reached), please remove them from the list below.

If you want to show off your work, use the talk page.

King Dedede and Meta Knight into List of Kirby characters. Currently undergoing merge wars and has large support on both sides. A larger audience of Wikipedians providing suggestion could help resolve the issue.

Barbershop chorus and Barbershop quartet into Barbershop music the first two are stubs and it seems to me that if someone searches for barbershop quartet, they are probably looking for the information about the form of music rather than just a brief definition of what a quartet or chorus is.

Fond du Lac Freeway with Wisconsin Highway 145. With improvements, the two pages would end up being redundant, as they will carry quite a bit of the same information. Perhaps a section dealing with the section that is known as the Fond du Lac Freeway would be in order on the merged page. Thoughts?TheBigFish (talk) 16:47, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Portions of Paul Revere's Ride and Paul Revere - Former article was originally intended to be about the poem by Longfellow, as the edit history will confirm. It has, instead, become a lengthy article on the historical ride of Revere. Revere's article already has most of this information (but this one is better sourced, it seems) but an editor of both articles refuses to make the merge and is no longer responding on Talk:Paul Revere's Ride. Buses in New York City into New York City Transit buses and MTA Bus Company: This proposal is going to be controversial, but the above two are the, with two minor exception, providers of franchised bus operations in New York City. Church-sect typology to sociological classifications of religious movements (originally named classifications of cults and new religious movements). The latter title (sociological classifications etc.) is broader, but is a rather unwieldy name. User:jossi has proposed a merge the other way round which I opposed on the talk page because, I think the latter article contains contents (i.e. digressions on cults and new religious movements) that would be off-topic in the former. Marxism in India into Socialism in India. Marxism in India is within the scope of the Socialism in India article. The article is not really about Indian interpretations on Marxist theory, but about the contemporary left movement in India. Thus they can be merged. --Soman (talk) 12:48, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

There was already an existing tag proposing Basal thermometer's merger into Thermometer. In the interim basal was redirected/merged into Medical thermometer. Scripting programming languages contains the early history of Scripting languages, and was moved by this copy-paste move in August, 2005. It needs an admin to do a history merge from Scripting programming languages to Scripting languages. merge Wikipedia:Spoiler into Wikipedia:No disclaimers in articles. We no longer have spoiler templates on Wikipedia articles, and this is explained adequately at WP:NDT. merge Philippines' Next Top Model and Philippines' Next Top Model, Cycle 1. Since there is still no confirmation about a possible second cycle of PNTM, it should not have been split in the first place. And now, because of the "unpermitted" split, an overly-parodized and overly-vandalized article was created out of a hoax article that is Philippines' Next Top Model, Cycle 2. merge Paraceratherium and Indricotherium. In french the corresponding articles are already merged. Here the difficulty is that both articles in english complete each other. The reason for the proposed merge is that : larger more robust Indricotherium with larger incisors being probably the male, and the more gracile Paraceratherium the female. It make no sense to have to articles describing a single specie. It need just a reference that historically they seemed to be different species. 6 January 2008

merge Chase Edmunds into Minor CTU agents in 24 the character only appeared in one season and the article is a mess. The article is riddled with OR Plot Summary, lack of in-universe and wider context notability and fancruft. Serious issues are also raised over the arguments as arguments made concerning policy are ignored and consensus is created by having more users saying the same thing which is effectively voting and prohibited. merge BookRelay into BookCrossing. BookRelay.com was an offshoot of Bookcrossing and is now defunct. Site has been closed for more than one year with the users moving elsewhere. People who have not been involved in previous mergers need to look at the 24 merger proposals. Proposed merge of Gloss (margin text) into Gloss as the former inherently says the same thing as the latter, but is more of a stub and kind of useless. The Gloss page should then be renamed "Gloss(Lexicography)" as it appears on the Gloss (disambiguation) page which should end up being the main page that a search for "gloss" goes to, not to "Gloss(Lexicography)" as it does now.

Proposed merger of Fascist italianization and Italianization - a into a single article Italianization. I came upon this by chance. This article was in one piece until recently divided without any question or consensus. I tried moving the page back myself but I made it even worse so now there are three instead of just two pages. Proposed merger of Blue Fugates into Methemoglobinemia. This was proposed a year ago by another user, but was incomplete. (The user added the mergeto template, but didn't list the merger proposal here or on any talk page.) Two editors, including me, disagreed with the proposal. I have restarted the merger proposal (discuss) to make sure it's handled correctly. Personally, I'm voting against, but want to give the proposal a fair shake.
Proposed merger of Netherlands and Kingdom of the Netherlands. The article should be called Netherlands as it is the normal short form of the country's name. Proposed merger of different "ending" articles" (e.g. Twist ending, Happy ending) into a new article, Ending (literature). Reasons are :
- These articles have a large overlap (since they all discuss endings, they should be discussed under one single article)
- The articles on their own do not currently satisfy Wikipedia's guidelines on fictional notability, and should be merged to provide better context
- The individual articles are too numerous and of Start or Stub Class; merging into a single article would provide a more comprehensive article on the subject, without hampering quick access to specific types of ending

Proposed merger of MEGA Cosmos (Canada) into Mega Channel: There is already a section on Mega Channel about it's international broadcast called Mega Cosmos. The channel is the same all over the world, but in Canada Ethnic Channels Group will add Canadian content them selfs per CRTC requirement. Reasons for merger:

This page should have been moved when the call sign of the radio station changed to KBWF.
All pertinent information from article has already been incorporated into the KBWF article.
Talk page is the only thing that really needs to be merged, but I have no idea how to go about it.

There are two other articles about previous incarnations of this frequency (KZQZ and KKHI), and I will deal with those separately. The only thing Germany-specific in the Hörspiel article is the list of series. Merge Victim of a crime into Victimology, or vice-versa. I created Victim of a crime, based on a suggested from WP:AR1 to created an article with the politically incorrect title of Victim-proneness. The topics discussed are worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia. They both have their strengths, but also weaknesses. Strengths: good citations, sources, and cross-references. Negatives: neither article is complete, both have phrases "blame the victim" and "street-walking" that don't really fit in Wikipedia. When I asked my paralegal intern to proof-read and edit the two articles, she was appalled at the language, especially in Victimology. She blanched at the wordings, which is quite difficult for her. Merge MDS America to MVDDS dispute. Now that the MDS International article has become a redirect to MVDDS dispute, I think it is only proper that this page be too. No secondary source I found about the company, and I have done an extensive review in the course of the MDSI debate and in writing MVDDS dispute, has mentioned the company outside the context of the Northlight Technology story. Moreover, all the sources indicated MDS America was the North American licensee of MDS International. Representatives of MDSA say the status has changed, and the contempt of court order does indicate the companies are no longer on friendly terms. Atkinson index and Atkinson Index should be merged; one article is much more technical than the other. In my opinion, the less technical one seems more suitable for lay audiences. The more technical article seems to be more mathematically "correct" or rigorous, and the formula in the less technical article seems to have a typographic error; however, I lack the requisite qualification in mathematics to ensure that the merger is performed correctly. hammered dulcimer and psaltery... in the first page's discussion there are propositions for merge with dulcimer or with cymbalum, that are completely different instruments... while "psaltery" is exactly the same thing (notice that in many languages they have the same name, and in English the choice between the words "psaltery" and "hammered dulcimer" usually depends only from the geographic location or from use - picking strings or hitting with small hammers). David Copperfield (character) and David Copperfield (novel). David Copperfield (character) refers to the main character of David Copperfield (novel). As the main character is fictional and the book acts as a biography, any information that is relevant to the main character is relevant to the book. As the article stands now, it is simply a rehash of the plot that already exists in the novel article.
Merge ISTAR into C4ISTAR, and merge the elements of Surveillance and Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition which describe a function into C4ISTAR. Merge John Prescott: Contentious events into John Prescott. Material was recently removed on the grounds of excessive article size (although even with the expunged material, the overall article length was around ~34 kb; cf, for example, Tony Blair, at ~>80 kb). Consensus was not established, and a recent AfD on John Prescott: Contentious events (where 'Merge and redirect' was not accepted as an option) provided significant support for a merge. Framing (communication theory) and Framing (psychology) should probably be merged; there was already a corresponding proposal on the talk pages, but apparently no-one felt competent to carry it out. Individually these shopping centres are non-notable.
