They are two of the biggest gay stars of the music world -- and their very public fallout became one of the biggest tabloid stories in recent months. But Sir Elton John and George Michael have apparently patched up their differences and become friends again.

According to the Mirror today, the two singing stars held a private tête-à-tête to discuss their fallout and the public criticism of each other.

Earlier this year, Sir Elton angered the former Wham! star when he claimed he was wasting his talent. In an interview that followed a string of attacks on fellow celebrities, he also accused him of taking too many drugs.

Rather than biting his lip, Michael issued a letter to celebrity magazine Heat, telling readers to ignore Sir Elton's comments, which, rather than coming from experience, were a result of the "gay grapevine."

The summit was held at Michael's London home, where Sir Elton was treated to a dinner from Gordon Ramsey, shipped in for the occasion. According to the newspaper, the pair spent most of the time reliving old times.

"George and Elton spent much of the time creased up laughing as they reminded each other of hilarious stories from the past," a friend told the newspaper. "They are both delighted the feud is over."
