Character error
Although Proud Heart Cat is officially a female, the opening song "Flying My Colors" mistakenly refers to her as a "he".
Continuity
When Baby Secret Bear and Baby Tenderheart Bear jump on the rainbow to leave the cloud boat, you can see their "tummy symbols", which they have not yet received. The symbols disappear as they are sliding, then when they reach the bottom of the rainbow, the symbols are given to them for the first time.
When the Care Bears are swimming in the lake, Noble Heart Horse and Brave Heart Lion go to throw Swift Heart Rabbit into the pool. As Brave Heart Lion comes up behind her, he has no suit on, but when he throws her in, he suddenly has it back on.
When they're on the boat in the kingdom, True Heart shoots a rainbow out of her stomach that only goes halfway into the air. But when the baby cubs slide down, it is suddenly down to the ground.
When the caring meter is dropping down, after Noble Heart Horse says "It must be Dark Heart," the shot shows the star and heart buddies and they have switched colors. The star is pink and the heart is yellow. Then in the next shot when they go to hide behind the two kids, they have suddenly switched back to their original colors.
As Dark Heart is trying to capture the Care Bears during their party planning, he launches Cheer Bear into the air via seesaw. Onlooker Funshine Bear is replaced by another Cheer Bear, then turns back to Funshine Bear.
When True Heart skydives down to Earth, she is wearing goggles with a wraparound strap. She takes these off and drops them in her backpack where Baby Swift Heart is hiding. When he pops up a split second later wearing the goggles, the strap is under his bonnet.
Near the end of the movie when the kids are waving goodbye to the Care Bears, the unnamed boy (formerly Dark Heart) is shown with blonde hair rather than its usual red color.
When all the Care Bears, Care Bear Cousins and children are swimming in the river, you can see Grumpy Bear in and out of his bathing suit several times.
During the "Forever Young" song at the end of the movie, Bedtime Bear is seen putting on a nightgown, but in the next scene he is shown getting into bed without the nightgown.
In the scene where the Care Bears and Cousins are imprisoned, there are two Tenderheart Bears in two different cages.
During "The Fight Song", Love-a-Lot Bear appears, although she traveled with Funshine Bear earlier in the movie who disappeared and was captured off-screen, so Love-a-Lot should have been captured with the others.
The rainbow fountain is shown with different positions of the colors; the blue water is boarding the purple water on the top half of the rainbow fountain, but green water is boarding the purple water on the lower half of the fountain.
Factual errors
At the end of the movie during the "Forver Young" song, Brave Heart Lion is paddling on two different colors of the rainbow river; Blue and orange, which are two colors that never border each other in a rainbow.
Plot holes
In "The Care Bears Movie" (1985), it started out with adult Care Bears who later met the adult Care Bear Cousins. The Cousins got their tummy symbols at the end of the movie. In this movie, it started out with all of the animals as babies. They all got their tummy symbols when they were babies and all grew up together.
Revealing mistakes
At the end of the movie when they all come out of Dark Heart's cave, Dark Heart is holding a red hat. When he gives the hat to Christy, it's purple.
During the first song when the bears and cousins are babies, Proud Heart Cat has his tummy symbol. They don't get their tummy symbols until they all reach the Kingdom of Caring.
During the "Flying My Colours" song, while baby Cheer Bear is chasing the heart bubbles, the rainbow on her tummy is crooked.
