Measures approx. 7" using # 10 thread & # 5 needle. All chains except the center ring.
Ch=chain, - = picot
Center ring can be made with the mock picot for closing. And chains can be done with a split chain if desired. Pattern will be written for each round separately.
I made my center with two different colors of blue, all one color can be used if desired. (For the center ring, you will see that one round is behind the other round of small chains and a picot is skipped as you work around the center ring.)
All chains will be Locked Joined to a picot as you work around. Once you shape your chain, LJ by pulling the Needle Thread up through the picot and put Needle Through the loop formed and close down on the picot. This will keep the last chain from pulling to tightly.
Center Ring 1st color of blue of your choice.
2ds 16 picots sep. by 2ds each 2ds close (if doing mock p make 15 p and close for 16th)
1st Row of Chains - Join to any picot of ring.
3ds - 3ds skip one picot and join. Work around skipping a picot for 8 chains.
Using another darker blue or the same color of your choice, work around on the skipped picots doing again 3ds - 3ds for another 8 chains, for 16 in all.
2nd Row of Chains - (Light Blue) Join to any picot of 1st round.
Chain 3ds - 3ds Join to the back row of first round. Continue around joining in each picot.
3rd Row of Chains - (Light Blue) Join to any picot of 2nd round
Do around 4ds - 4ds joining to next picot and work around.
4th Row of Chains - (Light Blue) Join to any picot of 3rd round
5ds - 5ds Joining to next picot and work around.
5th Row of Chains - (A little bit darker blue)
6ds - 6ds
6th Row of Chains (Same blue)
7ds - 7ds
7th Row of Chains - (A darker blue)
9ds - 9ds (In this row I jumped to 9ds-9ds, but if you want to you can make it 8ds-8ds and then do the next row 9ds-9ds and then do the next row of 5ds-5ds-5ds-5ds if you want just a bit larger doily.)
8th Row of Chains - (Same Darker Blue)
5ds - 5ds - 5ds - 5ds
Border in a darker blue of Navy - *On any chain, 3rd picot.
Make a chain of 6ds - 6ds join over to first picot on next chain.
6ds join on 2nd picot of chain.
6ds join on 3rd picot of Chain.
Make another chain of 6ds - 6ds join over on first p of next chain, and continue around, joining last chain to first.
