About Ship Dates Return to Help Center

What does “ship date” mean?

Store Customers:
In most cases, this is the day we pick up product from the manufacturer and ship it to your local store. Most pre-order products arrive in our stores the following day, although not all products are expedited. To avoid a wasted trip, always contact your local store to determine availability.

Online Customers:

In most cases, this is the day we pick up product from the manufacturer and ship it to your home. This assumes we have had at least 24 hours to process your order, there were no issues processing your payment, and your product is being shipped to a U.S. address. USPS pre-orders usually ship the following day. The date of arrival is determined by the handling method you selected.

Why do “ship dates” change?
Ship dates change for many reasons. Sometimes manufacturers delay a product launch to make improvements. It is not uncommon for a ship date to change several times before a product launches.

Who determines the “ship date?”
That depends. When a new product is announced and a manufacturer has not provided a “ship date,” we provide our best estimate of when we believe the product may ship. Sometimes a manufacturer will provide us with only a month, quarter or season. In this case, we also make our best estimate. When we are unsure of a ship date, we usually note this on the product page. Most ship dates are provided by the manufacturer, but these are also subject to frequent change.

What is a “street date?”

Store Customers:
Sometimes manufacturers ship us inventory in advance, but require that we hold the product until a specific date. In most cases, the date listed is when the product will be available in your local store. If a product is “street dated,” we usually note this on the product page.
Online Customers:
Sometimes manufacturers ship us inventory in advance, but require that we hold the product until a specific date. We typically ship “street dated” products the day before the posted street date. If you chose “overnight shipping” there is a good chance your order will arrive on the street date, otherwise the date of arrival will be determined by the handling method you selected. This assumes we have had at least 24 hours to process your order, there were no issues processing your payment, and your product is being shipped to a U.S. address. USPS pre-orders usually ship the following day. If a product is “street dated,” we usually note this on the product page.
