Dark Sector is a sinister, morbid game in which the player controls C.I.A. agent Hayden Tenno who has been sent to a Lasria to complete his mission of killing a man who intends on infecting humanity with a virus. After something goes wrong, Hayden finds himself infected and throughout the game he struggles to rid himself of the virus and take down his target, Mezner, the madman spreading the infection.
The story holds up pretty well but one play through isn't enough. After playing through the game twice I found the story more engaging for the simple fact that I knew what was going on because it was already familiar to me. Graphically, this game is absolutely gorgeous and definitely one of the prettiest games for the Xbox 360. The sounds are fantastic whether it be a shrieking soldier who just lost a limb or the clang the glaive deflecting off steel, it all sounds great. The gameplay is very reminiscent of Resident Evil 4 and anyone that was a fan of that game should check this ...[More]

Good idea but could have been better |
By: Person Date: Friday, Apr 04, 2008 |
The game was a good idea but poorly executed, you play it through not knowing whats going on they talk about things that happened in the past but not in enough detail to know what happened. You never know exactly what your supposed to be doing. Fun for the first few hours but then you fight the same enemies. Some of the enemies were good like the normal soldiers but the zombies just were annnoyi...[More] |

If you are a gamer who enjoys action games, then play Dark Sector. That being said, if you are looking for the substance and storyline of games such as BioShock or Mass Effect...then pass on this one. There are many holes and often times the cutscenes leave you wondering what was even being talked about. The cutscenes are very vague...and the story as a whole never quite comes together. Most of th...[More] |
More Like a Dark Sickness |

The visuals are the only redeeming factor of the game. Digital Extremes did indee rise to the challange of creating an aesthetically pleasing game. Some areas were dark making it difficult to figure out what was going on. The combat system is boring and monotonous. The character does not do anything miraculous. He shoots with the left and glaives with the right. For those who don't know thi...[More] |
