Amy's Split Ring Flag. Was fun to do and easy if you know split rings. Each round is done separately, except for the blue, you can work up on the 3 rows of 4 rings. Any size thread would work for this cute little flag, which can be used as a pin, magnet for the frig. or glued to a card to a friend or family member.
I made one in size #10 threads which measured when done, 3" across and 2½" down.
Cl=Close Rw=Reverse Work +=Join /=Split P=Picot
Starting at bottom of flag, with Red:
Row 1 Red:
R 3ds p 9ds Cl
R 6ds / 3ds p 3ds Cl
(repeat 7 times for a total of 8 rings.)
R 9ds p 3ds Cl- Cut, hide ends.
Row 2 White: (start on right side, last ring made)
R 3ds p 6ds +(to side p of red) 3ds Cl
R 3ds +(to p of second red) 3ds / 3ds p 3ds Cl
(repeat 7 times for total of 8 rings)
R 3ds + 6ds p 3ds Cl- Cut hide ends.
Row 3 Red:
Repeat row 2 with Red
Row 4 White:
Repeat row 2 again with white.
Blue Row's-(For those doing all front side work, flip work over and start on right side, the last ring made and start with backwards ds's. Also make downward joins so your joins do not have that little dot from the other color.)
Row 1 Blue:
R 3ds - 6ds + 3ds Cl
R 3ds + 3ds / 3ds p 3ds Cl
R 3ds + 3ds / 3ds p 3ds Cl
R 3ds + 3ds p 3ds / 3ds Cl (This split will end up on top so you can continue with the next round of blue.)
Row 2 Blue:
R 3ds p 3ds p 3ds / 3ds Cl RW (reversing work here, get the threads on the proper side to start the next ring join)
R 3ds + 3ds / 3ds p 3ds Cl
R 3ds + 3ds / 3ds p 3ds Cl
R 3ds + 6ds / 3ds (Again this ring will bring it to the top to continue next round.)
Row 3 Blue:
R 9ds / 3ds Cl Rw
R 3ds + 3ds / 6ds Cl
R 3ds + 3ds / 6ds Cl
R 3ds + 3ds P 6ds Cl
Row 5 Red:
R 3ds p 3ds +(to blue) 3ds +(to white) 3ds Cl

Stars are rings of 1-1-1-1-1-1 or however many you want to add, joined around rings, or add small beads, buttons, glitter etc.
