[edit] Personal life
Rosenfeld was born to a Jewish family in the Bayside section of the New York City borough of Queens on the last day of 1962. He has a younger brother named Jason who was involved in Anthrax briefly. On hearing Kiss, he quickly absorbed the culture of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal rock movement and NYC hardcore. Rosenfeld is engaged to singer Pearl Aday, daughter of Marvin "Meat Loaf" Aday. He claims that Ted Nugent was the reason he wanted to play guitar and cited his Free-for-All album and Kiss' Alive! as an influence. He credits Motörhead and Judas Priest as the biggest influence on the sound of Anthrax and says Angus Young is a true rock n roll god and also says Rob Halford is the greatest singer in the world. He also cites the influence of Cheap Trick, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, and AC/DC. He has stated that The Who was his first favorite band. He attended Bayside High School.
[edit] Career
In 1981 Ian formed Anthrax with bassist Danny Lilker. He and Charlie Benante are the only original members of Anthrax still in the band. In 2005, they reformed the Among the Living era lineup to release an anthology album, DVD and embarked on a world tour.
Ian filmed a reality series for VH1 called "SuperGroup". Scott along with Ted Nugent (guitar), Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard, bass), Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row; vocals) and Jason Bonham (Bonham, UFO, Foreigner; drums) filmed in Las Vegas, with the premise being to lock several musicians in a house for 12 days and get them to write new, original music and perform a concert. In addition to the five musicians, star manager Doc McGhee (Kiss) was in charge and was also living in the house for the duration of filming/recording. The show's first episode aired in May, 2006. Ian also appears on comedian Brian Posehn's music video "Metal By Numbers" which appears on Posehn's MySpace.
He has recently worked with underground emcee/producer Necro for his upcoming album entitled Death Rap.
