Jacek Bąk (pronunciation), born March 24, 1973 in Lublin, is a Polish footballer who plays as a defender for Austria Wien in Austria, as well as for the Poland national football team.

He made his footballing debut with Motor Lublin aged just 16, before moving to Lech Poznań two years later.

In Bąk's first season with Lech Poznań, he won the Polish Championship title, before catching the eye of the Polish coach, who gave him his first international cap against Cyprus. Bąk was transferred to Olympique Lyon in 1995, but failed to emulate in France what he achieved in Poland, due to persisting injuries.

He also played in France for RC Lens, before moving to the Qatar league. In 2007, he switched back to Europe and signed with Austria Wien. Bąk earned caps in the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals held in South Korea and Japan and the 2006 finals in Germany, totalling, as of September 2007, 87 caps and three goals.

Recently, Bąk claimed he was offered money to affect the outcome of the European Championships 2008 qualifying fixture between Belgium and Poland in Belgium's favour.[citation needed]

Jacek Bąk has a wife named Anna and one son also named Jacek.
