Le Mans UC72 is a French football club, based in Le Mans. It was founded in 1985, having gone under its full name of Le Mans Union Club 72 since their foundation in 1902. Rudy Garcia, former coach of Dijon SCO, succeeds Frédéric Hantz, as manager of the MUC 72. The club was promoted to Ligue 1 for the 2005-06 season. They play their home games in Stade Omnisports Léon Bollée.

US Le Mans Sports Club were founded in 1889, but it wasn't until 1902 that a football club existed within it. In 1910, Le Mans qualified for the Championnat de la France in 1910 but are heavily overturned by Saint-Servan. Gaining a huge reputation up to World War I, they plunged into obscurity by World War II before joining the league in 1942.
Le Mans UC72 exist thanks to a merge between USM and SOM on June 12, 1985. It was at this time that their coach, Christian Gourcuff, joined as coach.
Le Mans UC72 is currently a team in full ascent in the french Ligue 1
