Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology

The Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology (Formerly known as the College of Aeronautics, previously the Academy of Aeronautics prior to 1989) is a specialized college located adjacent to LaGuardia Airport in Flushing in Queens County, New York. It was founded in Newark, New Jersey in 1932, and moved to New York in 1940. The college's most recent name change, to honor a founder, was on September 1, 2004.
It provides programs in engineering technology, aviation maintenance, and mangagment. It has programs leading to the Associate or Bachelor degree, and the Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant maintenance certificate. Programs can include flight training. Vaughn also is the only college in New York to offer the engineering program Mechatronics, developed at MIT, it is believed to be one of the newest and fastest growing up and coming fields of work. Mechatronics is a combination of several engineering types including mechanical and electrical.
