A: Corus Entertainment is proud to be a Canadian company. While we remain excited about opportunities to export our products and our expertise by partnering or investing in international businesses that are synergistic with ours, current federal regulations limit foreign ownership of Canadian broadcasting and production companies to less than 40%.

14. What TV stations does Corus own?
A: Corus Entertainment controls a number of specialty television networks:
YTV, Treehouse, W Network, CMT, Movie Central, Discovery Kids and SCREAM. Corus also owns and operates three local over-the-air CBC-affiliated stations: CHEX-TV in Peterborough, Channel 12 - CHEX-TV in Durham and CKWS-TV in Kingston. In addition, Corus has ownership interests in TELETOON (50%), Telelatino (50.5%) and the Food Network Canada (19.9%).

A: In addition to television and radio assets, Corus Entertainment also owns
Corus Custom Networks, Max Trax and Nelvana Limited, which owns Kids Can Press. Corus Custom Networks sells, creates, produces and delivers advertising products and services through electronic media, particularly cable advertising. Max Trax is a digital audio service for digital cable and Direct-To-Home subscribers and businesses. Corus purchased Nelvana Limited in September of 2000. Nelvana is a leading integrated children's entertainment company which develops, produces, markets and distributes high quality media content and related product to children worldwide. Kids Can Press is Canada’s leading children’s book publisher with titles distributed around the world.

16. Does Corus have a charitable donations policy?
A: Corus Entertainment, through its numerous radio stations, television networks and other companies, supports many worthwhile causes across Canada both in terms of monetary support and Public Service Announcements.

The primary focus of our corporate giving strategy is:
• Improving the lives of Canadian children by supporting programs that encourage childhood development through play, physical activity, arts and entertainment.
• Improving the lives of Canadian women and their families by supporting programs and initiatives that offer training, skills development and tools that enhance the economic and personal independence of women.

Our goal is to closely align our charitable giving to our business plan and whenever possible, we prefer to support organizations with national scope. We give preference to Canadian registered charities that have been in existence for at least five years, have a Board of Directors, and are audited.

All requests must be accompanied by a charitable registration number.
