The Stocking Were Hung By The Chimney with Care....

 Stocking made with #10 red/green #5 Needle. Measure approximately 4" tall, Heel to toe 2" and top 1¼.

R=Ring Ch=Chain P=Picot CL=Close Rw=Reverse work DNR=Do Not reverse work.

With Red thread on needle working off ball.

Do 3 more rings joining sides. 3 more chains
Do a 6th ring
Ch 3ds p 3ds p 3ds p 3ds Rw
R 3ds p 3ds + (join in center p of the 6th ring) 3ds p 3ds Cl Rw
Ch 3ds p 3ds p 3ds p 3ds Rw
R 3ds p 3ds + (join to center p of 6th ring again) 3ds p 3ds Cl Rw
Ch 6ds Rw
Do 4 more rings down, and 3 chains. So you have 6 rings on the first side and 5 across.
I just added on my green at this point, and cut the red ball thread. Leave enough to hide the end. And you will have the green end to hide also. There is one more red ring to be made, but that will be made with the red that is left on the Needle.
Green Heel and Toe:
Ch 12ds Rw
R 12ds + (to the side of the last red ring) 3ds + (to the center p of the first ring made) 3ds P 9ds Cl Rw
Ch 12ds DNT flip the work over and use the red for the next ring,
R 3ds + (to the p on large green ring) 3ds P 3ds P 3ds Cl Rw
Ch 6ds this chain double stitches should face up. DNT
R 3ds + (side p of the red ring) 3ds p 3ds p 3ds CL DNT
Ch 6ds

Add a hanger at the top if desired. Should not need shaping or starching unless you desire to do so.
