Hello friend,
We would like to tell you of two important developments from the organization:
1) As of last month, the Board of Directors approved a project called For Kids From Kids which will benefit the Abebech Gobena Children's Care and Development Organization of Ethiopia. We plan to raise $8,000 USD or 68,240 Ethiopian Birr (Ethiopian currency) to help support the organization's mission in assisting over 600,000 marginalized segments in Ethiopia and supporting thousands upon thousands of Ethiopian children and youth that do not have a place to call home or a person to call "mom" or "dad."
2) The Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United States of America in NW Washington, DC is gracious enough to permit The Gebru Foundation, Inc. use of the embassy hall for our Washington, DC Benefit Dinner for the For Kids From Kids Project. Our Event will be on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 6:00 PM-10:00 PM at the Embassy of Ethiopia on 3506 International Drive, NW Washington, DC 20008.
