'''Charles Geer''' grew up on Long_Island, New York. He attended Dartmouth_College in New_Hampshire and then served in the U.S._Navy during World_War_II. Following the war he attended art school at the Pratt_Institute. Geer has illustrated many children’s books and has written and illustrated two of his own. He has also designed numerous book jackets. Many of the buildings in his illustrations feature Second_Empire architecture, with their characteristic Mansard_roofs. The illustrator lives in Maine, where he enjoys sailing and painting Watercolors.
