Hung Liu

Hung Liu (刘虹)(b. February 17, 1948) in Changchun, China is a Chinese-American contemporary artist.

Hung Liu was born in the People's Republic, China and immigrated to the United States in 1984. She is a class of '86 alumna of UC, San Diego. Her paintings and prints often make use of anonymous Chinese historical photographs, particularly those of women, as subject matter. Liu has received numerous awards, including two painting fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and her work is represented in the permanent collections of major galleries in the United States and Asia.

She is currently the Professor of Painting at Mills College in Oakland, California.
