He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 30, 1912, the youngest of six children, to George Wecker and Minnie Jane Jacobs. Although born in St. Louis, he spent most of his life in Midland,_Texas. He and his family were friends with the Bush family and he painted a portrait for President George_W._Bush. Wecker was a descendant of Reverend Martin_Boehm who helped found the United_Methodist_Church. President George W. Bush's mother-in-law Jenna Welch attended his 90th birthday party. His artwork is on permanent display at the Petroleum Museum in Midland.
