Sergei Prokofiev

Highly gifted as a pianist and composer, the prolific Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953) combined a tendency toward neoclassicism with an innovative spirit characterized by hard-driving, motoric rhythms and a sense of mocking and capricious satire.
