Completely new notes have been provided by EMI's Callas expert, Tony Locantro, with a CD-ROM of all opera libretti. Well...what can I say...the definitive collection of all surfaced so far recordings by La Divina in a luxurious box - a piece of art itself, marvelous design, carefully packaged CDs each in its box with a little booklet unlike the budget version, exquisite book with rare materials, set of rare photos, all marvelously packaged in art-deco style box and envelope...

As for the sound itself - no revelations here, as usual EMI sets sound a little "metallic" Callas-wise and and besides I did hope they would improve the sound imperfections of La Traviata recording...but well...it is what it is. Anyways, as I didn't purchase this unique set for any discoveries in sound, but rather to have a unique collection of La Callas' recordings which I am now happy to have gotten on time, in perfect condition and with the number certificate confirming that this is a limited edition set which is not going to be reissued...well...now I only wish they released Maria's full live collection (not the abridged 8 CD set they released in 2005)

5 stars for this unprecedented release..I am stunned and happy...
