Welcome to the website of
Signs of the Times magazine
Australian / New Zealand edition.
In this month's Signs:
For decades, C S Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia
have been among the world’s best-loved
children’s books. So whoever was going to be
involved with adapting these stories in movie
form was undertaking a difficult assignment.
After looking through the Sunday advertisements,
I felt a slight skip in my
heart. Sales—make-up sales, to be specific.
Hmmm, did I need anything?
I considered my slim stock of facial
enhancements and realised grimly that I didn’t honestly “need” a single item. Still, I was drawn to the
glamour and allure promised by the manufacturers
of these accoutrements.
Many of the choices we
make about our health
are ill-informed, illadvised
or just plain
wrong. Some may
actually make us sick. What’s more, we
repeat them!
Take a moment to consider the greatest
Man who ever lived. Be your
own judge of who Jesus is!
Eustace now realised the worthlessness
of money, jewels, wealth and luxury.
He also realised he didn’t want to
be the boy he had been: complaining,
arrogant and conceited. He finally recognised
his need for a new heart, a new
mind and a new beginning.
I recently read that 20 per cent of the things you own hold 80 per cent of the total value of those things. I had a look at the things surrounding me and realised there was a lot of truth in what I read. I decided, then and there, I only wanted to be surrounded by valuable things.

A New Earth
We are being
forced to take the calls to action regarding
the future of our planet seriously.
They are like hurricane or tornado
sirens, warning of imminent disaster if
nothing is done to address the issue of
the destruction of the earth.
Let’s try logic
Genuine science doesn’t turn a
blind eye to alternative hypotheses,
even if they’re not widely accepted. Many of today’s scientists consider
the biblical account of Creation to be
more credible than the highly unlikely
probabilities of evolutionary theory.
A Forgotten Father of
Reformation
Often forgotten or
obscured in Reformation
history is
one man who towers
above his luminaries
and heroes. He is Thomas
Bilney, also known as the father of
the English Reformation.
Jon Johanson—Wings
Like Eagles
Jon Johanson is a man who knows what it is
like to “soar on wings like eagles.” Through
hard work, perseverance and sheer stubbornness,
he built his own light aircraft and
become the first Australian to fly solo around
the world in a custom-built aircraft in 1995.
Peter: Fisherman, Flawed
Disciple, Sheep Feeder
Peter was called into a life of discipleship —warts and all. Arthur Patrick helps us see
ourselves in this passionate follower of Jesus.
Path Out of Poverty
If you think of the fields as her
job, the 10-minute walk is a relatively
short trip to work. But when
you realise the fields are her family’s
primary source of food, it’s an
exceptionally long walk to the pantry.
