Peter Engel is a television producer who is best known for his teenage sitcoms which appeared on TNBC, a former Saturday morning block on NBC which featured all teenage-oriented program for educational purposes. His most well known work was the teenage sitcom Saved by the Bell which inspired the birth of the TNBC block for his other shows such as California Dreams, Hang Time and City Guys in the 1990s. He is widely known to regurgitate plot lines from one of his shows and use it later on in another of his shows.

For a period of time, he also served as the dean of the School of Communication and the Arts at Pat Robertson's Regent University.

His latest project was being executive producer of the NBC reality series Last Comic Standing.
