April 20 - for the first time since coming home from military service in Germany, Elvis Presley returns to Hollywood, California to film G.I. Blues
August 10 - Filming of West Side Story begins.
November 4 - Filming wraps on The Misfits, starring Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable (this was the last film either performed in)
November 13 - Sammy Davis, Jr. and May Britt wed.
