[edit] Rankings for the 2006/07 season
The rankings are not yet complete but the first three are evident. Real Madrid still hold the first place with a much better financial status. Their arch-rivals Barcelona are in the second place despite not winning any silverware that season. Interestingly, Arsenal have managed the third spot, going up 6 places with a spectacular £200 million (€287.1) turnover. The rest of the list is approximately known but not officially ready yet. Until the new values from other clubs are published, the list will be updated only for the top 3 which are unlikely to change. Note that these are not official values coming from Deloitte sources, but are confirmed by the respective representatives of each club.

The total revenue of the top 20 richest clubs in the world is now over €3.3 Billion. Barcelona gained four places in the ranking for this year, making the two richest clubs both from Spain. England has the largest number of clubs in the list. Manchester United is still the richest club in the English Premiership, however, they were second on this list last year and have now fallen to fourth. A club from Portugal was added to the list for the first time. Portugal's S.L. Benfica is the third club from the Iberian Peninsula among the top 20 in the world, after Spain's Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona.
