'''Talbot Mundy''' (18791940) is the pseudonym of William Lancaster Gribbon, a British-born writer of adventure stories during the early twentieth century. His most famous book is King_of_the_Khyber_Rifles, which is set in India under British Occupation. The long buildup to the introduction to Yasmini and the scenes among the outlaws in the Khinjan Caves clearly influenced fantasy writers Robert_E._Howard and Leigh_Brackett. His related JimGrim series, which has mystical overtones and part of which is available over the web from Theosophical sites, ran in ''Adventure'' magazine before book publication. Mundy was associated with Theosophy's movement and helped popularize the legend of the Nine_Unknown_Men in the West. He wrote many other books and stories, including ''Hira_Singh'' and a number of stories about ''Tros of Samothrace'', a Greek freedom fighter who aided Britons and Druids in their fight against Julius_Caesar. ==Bibliography== * Brian Taves, Talbot Mundy, Philosopher of Adventure (McFarland, 2005) ==External links== * Dustfall * {{gutenberg author|id=Talbot_Mundy|name=Talbot Mundy}} * {{gutenberg|no=13714|name=Materials Toward a Bibliography of the Works of Talbot Mundy}} * Talbot Mundy - Master of Mystical Adventure {{UK-writer-stub}} Mundy, Talbot Mundy, Talbot
