Welcome to WikiProjects Schools! Some Wikipedians have formed a group to improve and standardize the quality and consistency of school-related articles. Ultimately, the goal here is to bring notable articles up to feature article standards. This project covers all articles about individual schools, school districts, and some general articles such as School. This project does not cover universities and colleges, except those that are a sixth form college.

[edit] Project goals

This project aims to improve the quality of school-related articles, and to provide a recommended article structure for all such articles. Articles affiliated with this project should become far more substantial than stubs, and should progress to the point of matching the quality of feature articles.

[edit] Article guidelines

Project members have created some guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines on how school articles should be organized. Note that these guidelines are advisory and editors are not obliged to follow them.

[edit] Current collaborations

  • Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires A very important school in Argentina with two Nobel prize winners, four Argentinian presidents and Lalo Schiffrin amongst its alumni. Currently a poor article devoid of references. The school deserves much better. Many of the sources will probably be in Spanish. Can anyone help? Dahliarose (talk) 14:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
  • City Montessori School, Lucknow, India. This is the largest school in the world with an astonishing 33,000 pupils currently on the roll. It was also the first school in the world to be awarded the UNESCO Peace Prize for Education. The present article is very meagre. Dahliarose (talk) 09:12, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
  • International School of Geneva in the Lake Geneva region, Switzerland. This is one of the most important International Schools of Switzerland and is also the school that invented the IB. It is one of Switzerland's oldest non-boarding schools (having been founded in 1924). The current article needs better style and more references. Booksworm Do you speak Orange? 16:46, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Tech Valley High School - I started this article the other day; it is currently making rounds through DYK. It is a unique, project-based learning school that recently opened in New York's Capital District. Each student receives a laptop upon entry. The school chooses from applicants from 47 component school districts in the area. Anyone may apply and the final decision on who gets to go from which school is random; so even if a student as an IEP, the student is still eligible. This needs expansion and is important because it is one of a very small breed and is instrumental in defining the educational system of the 21st century. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 00:16, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
