Macquarie Centre is a large shopping centre located in the City of Ryde in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It features over 200 retailers, Myer, Target, Franklins, Woolworths, Big W, JB Hi-Fi, Borders, Greater Union cinema complexes, a proposed Harvey Norman electrical/furniture/CD/DVD complex (built by 2009/10), and an ice rink, which was used for the 1991 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships.^[1]

Macquarie Centre is situated opposite Macquarie University's main campus on the corner of Herring Road and Waterloo Road.

It is managed and leased by AMP Capital Shopping Centres, a division of AMP which manages 43 shopping centres in Australia and New Zealand.

The centre has recently undergone refurbishments in the food court to create extra seating, toilets and lighting.

In August 2003, Westfield acquired a 50% stake in Macquarie Centre. Today the centre is jointly-owned by Westfield and AMP Capital Shopping Centre Fund. AMP Capital Shopping Centres manages Macquarie Centre.

The centre has recently introduced parking fines for more than 3 hours at the centre and as yet has not provided paid parking facilities to counter this problem. This controversial move has angered many customers and has created significant transport problems for staff of the various stores in the Macquarie Centre.^{[citation needed]}

Macquarie Centre is a bus interchange where buses from mostly northern Sydney stop at. A railway station on the Epping to Chatswood railway line is under construction close to the centre, due to be opened in 2008.
