It is located on the edge of an elevated plateau (the Illawarra_escarpment) about 10 km from the coast. Robertson is known for its high annual rainfall and fertile soil. It was previously covered by an extensive temperate rainforest, most of which has been cleared for farming though remnants still exist today. Robertson is known for potato growing. Robertson is where the movie ''Babe'' was made. Robertson is named after former Premier_of_New_South_Wales, Sir John Robertson, who's 1861 Land Act cleared the way for the establishment of the town. Robertson has the dubious honour of hosting the world's largest statue of a potato. == External links== * Official website of Robertson NSW Category:Towns_in_New_South_Wales
