    Strengths:

    Weaknesses:this product sucks will not function properly does not install properly etc.

    Overall Evaluation: buy anything but they have absolutely no help on the website which always blames anything but the program. The techsupport has no answers and continually sends you to the next techie that is as confused as the rest

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Excellent Features, but none of them WORK! Winfax from Symantec is trash! Get Fax2Send for Linux.

    Weaknesses:Can't install or uninstall Symantec Trash!

    Overall Evaluation: You buy thinking a product works. Symantec should be sued for this.Doesn't install and uninstall, doesn't work. You need Symantec's uninstall sheild wizard, oops, that doesn't work either. If you don't know about computers, get ready to reinstall Windows or your Server. What is Symantec doing? Seems like everything Symantec does, doesn't work. Suggestion: Get Fax2Send! Linux Open Source Product. Does cost for Business use but atleast it works.

    Strengths: Works great with outdated operating systems.

    Weaknesses:Fax Sharing will not work with Windows XP SP2.

    Overall Evaluation: Peter Norton should be ashamed... Winfax 10.02, 10.03, 10.04, doesn;t matter, fax Sharing won't work with Windows XP Service Pack 2. I've received a few overly-technical solutions from Symantec, none successful. Aren't you supposed to be able to just install software and it works?That's apparently a novel concept to the Winfax team.

    Weaknesses:STAY AWAY FROM ANY VERSION OF WINFAX, EVEN VERSION 10.03. IT DOES NOT INTEGRATE WITH OUTLOOK XP PHONE BOOK AND WILL HANG UP YOUR COMPUTER. I WISH THERE WERE "ZERO" STARS OR "MINUS" STARS TO RATE THIS

    Overall Evaluation: STAY AWAY. I SPENT WEEKS WITH SYMANTEC CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND ALL I GOT WAS REPEATED EXCUSED ON WHY IT DIDN'T WORK WITH OUTLOOK XP PHONEBOOK. THEIR WEBSITE FOR MONTHS SAID "HEY WE KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THAT WE CAUSED BUT WE CAN'T REALLY FIGURE OUT HOW TO HANDLE IT."Purchase FaxTalk or event HotFax.

    Strengths: Does everything it proclaims to do.

    Weaknesses:None other than with 10.0 I occasionally had a scanner drive conflict. Seems to have gone away with time.

    Overall Evaluation: Current installation of 10.03 with XP Pro is only a few days old. There are a few things that MUST be done before installing 10.03. You must REMOVE any earlier version of Winfax and/or any other faxing programs, especially the little cheapo's on the market. You MUST DISABLE any programs access to the modem which usually occurs upon boot-up. If any program is accessing the modem the program will not install. You SHOULD disable any virus software running. Disconnect Internet access to protect from a virus while disabled. Go to program files (after you've removed Winfax or any other programs) and delete any signs of Winfax including Symantec/LiveUpdate. Restart your computer so that it is totally clean. In XP, set a restore point should you have any problems (but you shouldn't). Then run the Winfax installation. It should go thru just fine but I guarantee nothing. The reason I rate it as 4 stars is because of all of the things that must be done BEFORE you install the program. If Winfax would do all of these things for you, I would rate it 5 stars. If you get a bad or incomplete install, the program and your computer will cause you headaches. It is necessary to do the things I've mentioned. I'm a Winfax user for many years. The other programs are just "toys".
