Why visit us?

The National Archives is a unique record of the past. Our collection covers the British Isles, the territories that formed the British Empire and the countries of the Commonwealth. It runs from the Domesday Book to the most recent government papers. Whatever your interests, we have documents that will bring you closer to history as it happened.

We have a well stocked shop selling a wide range of history books, cards and gifts and a popular on site restaurant and café - for more on our on site facilities. We are based in West London and have excellent transport links. Entrance to The National Archives is free.

We also provide free wireless Internet access, which allows people with wireless compatible devices to access the internet from our public restaurant and conference suite here at Kew.
