Tom Waits Extends "Glitter and Doom" Tour

Don't you worry, Europe, you'll get your "Glitter and Doom" this year too. Sly devil Tom Waits has extended his so-named tour with the addition of 15 dates on the continent spanning seven cities. This second round of gigs begins July 12 in San Sebastián, Spain, and includes the inaugural Waits forays into Spain and the Czech Republic.
The singer/trivia buff must first, of course, wrap his U.S. jaunt, which kicks off June 17 in Phoenix. And hey, here's the fine band you'll find backing Mr. Waits on all dates this spring and summer: Larry Taylor (upright bass), Patrick Warren (keyboards), Omar Torrez (guitars), Vincent Henry (woodwinds), and Casey Waits (drums and percussion).
As Waits mentioned in yesterday's self-interview, "They play with racecar precision and they are all true conjurers. I'm doing songs with them I've never attempted outside the studio. They are all multi-instrumentalists and they polka like real men." And that, as we all know, is a feat not to be taken lightly.
