'''Marya Zaturenska''' (19021982) was an American lyric Poet, winner of the Pulitzer_Prize_for_Poetry in 1938. Born in Kiev, her family emigrated to the United States, when she was eight and lived in New York. Like many immigrants, she was forced to work in a factory during the day, but was able to attend high school at night. She was an outstanding student and won a scholarship to Valparaiso_University; she later transferred to the University_of_Wisconsin, where she met her husband, the prize-winning poet Horace_Gregory.
