"Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility"

HotGrrrl HotGrrrl Q We just bought our son the Xbox 360 for Christmas and want to know if you can use original Xbox games with it or do you have to purchase games specifically for the Xbox 360? Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell him!

Hello HotGrrrrrrrrrrrrrl,

The Xbox 360 can play both original Xbox games and Xbox 360 games. The list of games, however, is limited. You can find it HERE. It's a pretty hefty list and includes most of the major titles from the orignial Xbox, but the Xbox 360 is limited in the fact that it can't play every game.

Also, I highly recommend getting your son an Xbox LIVE account so he can play online with his friends, download game demos, and watch movies. Xbox LIVE is the crowning achievement and highlight of owning an Xbox 360.
