"Marvel Super Heroes"

andrewmy andrewmy Q Hey major mike, I was wondering if there is any slow down in the japanese version of marvel super heroes for the sega saturn? I read some reviews but they all seem to say different things. Some think the game is fast but some think its slow and inferior to the arcade version. Thanks for your help.

MajorMike MajorMike A We reviewed Marvel Super Heroes for the Saturn in our November 1997 issue (page 152 to be exact), and we said the U.S. version had "Sharp, comic-book inks that seem to bleed from the screen in a great representation of the paper heroes. Unfortunately, the sprites suffer from slowdown when bigger enemies like Thanos and Juggernaut are on the screen." If memory serves correct, the Japanese version used optional additional RAM that was fitted into the cartridge slot on the Saturn unit. However, it sped things up--a little. The bottom line: the Japanese version of MSH ran faster than the U.S. one, but only with the additional RAM, and slowdown still remained.
