Timbaland to Produce Next Jay-Z Album?

So Timbaland-- producer to the stars, seer of the future, you know his steelo-- recently sat down with the folks at MTV News for a little chat about a forthcoming project. It seems Tim's got his eye on crafting some beats for his old friend and frequent collaborator Jay-Z's next album. And then, when he's done with those, crafting some more. Until Timbaland and Jay-Z have made an entire album together. See!

Of course, it's still all very tentative, as the clip's be-fauxhawked host reminds us. But Tim seems to see it a little differently, acting at times as though the thing may already be underway. "He wants me to do the whole thing this time around," Timbaland claims, adding "and I'm making a classic, too. Better believe me, it'll be a monster." Uh, duh. "We wanna go onto the world," he notes, adding that their most commercially successful collaboration, 2000's "Big Pimpin'", "was a world international hit, and we wanna do ten of those." Yes please.

Timbaland was on "TRL" today to help rising star/"The Way I Are" singer Keri Hilson debut her new video. He also produced Soundgarden/Audioslave screamer Chris Cornell's new solo album, which he says is "the best work I've done so far." (Um. OK.) As for Jay, he'll hit the Pemberton Festival July 25-27 in Pemberton, British Columbia.
