The Twilight Sad to Open for Mogwai in Europe
Mogwai are Scottish and most of their songs start off kinda quiet and get real loud at the end.
Precisely all of those things could be also said about the Twilight Sad. (But the Twilight Sad do a whole lot more singing.)
Perhaps this very line of thought went through the minds of the veteran post-rockers, who have invited their more vocally emotive countrymen to open for them on the European leg of their tour, taking place in late October and November.
Mogwai will have plenty of wares to peddle on the road. The Roky Erickson-boosted EP Batcat is out September 8 in the UK from PIAS/Wall of Sound and September 9 in the U.S. from Matador. Full-length The Hawk Is Howling is out September 22 in the UK and September 23 in the U.S. A special CD/DVD combo edition of The Hawk Is Howling is due on the same date, with the visual delights comprised of the recently Forkcasted "Batcat" video, an animated clip for the same song, and a film about Mogwai by Vincent Moon and Teresa Eggers.
