Police: Chopper At Scene Clips Ambulance Roof

POSTED: 3:59 pm EDT September 12, 2008
UPDATED: 4:16 pm EDT September 12, 2008

Four people are dead after a car crash in Gloucester County on Thursday night.

State Police said 18-year-old Jon Nordberg, of Pilesgrove, drove a Honda Accord off the roadway on Route 55 in Elk Township and into the back of a parked street sweeper.

The driver died, along with three passengers -- 17-year-old Rhonda Giorno; 19-year-old Matthew Funk and 23-year-old Shaheem Hamilton.

A 2-month-old girl in the car survived with only minor injuries. The baby's address was the same as Nordberg and Giorno's.

State police also said the rear rotors of a state helicopter at the scene clipped the roof of an ambulance at the scene. That did not cause any injuries or severe damage, though.
