Bento Friday: cute Mickey Mouse bento box recipe
Today we have a really sweet and cute bento box recipe: Mickey Mouse! If you are a fan of Mickey Mouse, this bento box recipe is going to make your day! Don’t worry: it’s really easy to prepare!
Ingredients: boiled rice, nori, imitation crab meat, cheese, favorite veggies, an egg (if you want to include a small omelette as seen in the picture).
First boil the rice. Take a bento box, and cover half of it with the boiled rice. Then, take nori, and cover the rice with it. Take two rows of imitation crab meat and put them on the lower part of the bento (as seen in the picture). Create two small onigiris and cover them with nori. These are Micky Mouse’s ears! Then we cut two small rounds with cheese. These are the buttons of the trouser of Mickey Mouse!
We finish decorating with our favorite veggies and if we want we can also put cherry tomatoes, and a bit of an omelette. You can get really creative here!
You can also create a Minnie Mouse bento box version!

March 11 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami: wasurenai
We won’t forget March 11 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. We can’t forget. On that day we were shocked to the roots of our souls, shaken and washed away while the earth trembled under our feet, while the waters of the ocean decided to take away a part of Japan. I remember like if it was yesterday. I was working, and suddenly an eternity came into action. That was it! And so I thought. The great Kanto Earthquake is finally here. But I was wrong. It was the megathrust of Tohoku!
We won’t forget, we can’t forget a country shaken to its roots, the pain and changes onto so many families. And yet, in all this we found friendship all around the world. Beyond our borders, within our souls.
No, we won’t forget. We can’t forget. That day the earth trembled for so long, the Tsunami stroke too strong. And for months there seem like it would have no end. We’ve changed, but we are strong.
We won’t forget March 11. Never forget.

Fandom Crossovers: Hello Kitty Superheroes
This week fandom crossovers are really funny! Hello Kitty teams up with Marvel Superheroes! Many people on the web have decided to give some Hello Kittly glam to Marvel Superheroes by re-imagining them with pink clothing and Hello Kitty adornments. Memes are a great way to convey ideas and have fun. Let’s begin with the Hello CapKitty!
Let’s discover the rest!
Hello Phil Coulkitty maintains its elegance. However, I must admit that in this case, I prefer the real Phil Coulson. Pink doesn’t really fit him, though he still is elegant.
The Hello Winter Soldier is so cute. He somehow feels a little bit menacing, but regarding fashion more than being deadly. In this case, he is deadly cute.
And now we know why Loki was so fond of Hello Hawkeye! You cannot resist this adorable guy!
Hello Falcon is too cute to bear! Though I still prefer the original Falcon, the Hello Kitty version is too cute to disregard.
Hello Spidey will steal your heart for sure! I want this action figure: right now!
And this is the very reason why Thorki exists. If Hello Thorki doesn’t motivate you enough, please take a closer look to him in pink. Too cute!
And finally the Hello Kitty star: Iron Man! From all the possible Hello Kitty fandom crossovers, this one is the most badass of all! Iron Man in pink with Hello Kitty motives is too much to bear! Dying from cuteness overload!
Memes are awesome, and so are people who think about how to make the rest of us be surprised. Thank you!

Rinkya Japanese Flashcards: onomatopoeia flashcard “teku teku”
Are you collecting all Rinkya Japanese flashcards? Good! Today we are going to learn all about the onomatopoeia “teku teku.” It describes to have been walking for a long time in a calm and steady manner. Imagine that you propose yourself to walk 50miles on one day, but you don’t care about how much time it takes you, nor your speed. You just walk at your pace, in a constant way. That would be “teku teku.” You can find this onomatopoeia in manga, literature and daily life conversations.

Top 10 cosplay pictures of the week: Disney Gender-swapped Cosplays
Our top 10 cosplay pictures of the week are going to make you re-think your Disney world: what if Elsa was a guy? Well, these cool cosplayers have decided to do a Disney gender-swapped cosplay, and it rocks!
We start with out top: Elsa by Keruuu. We all know that Elsa is a badass princess, but if she was to be a Prince, she would rock too! What do you think?
Let’s take a look to the other Disney gender-swapped cosplays!
Our next in the list is Anna, Elsa’s… brother! By Nipahdubs. He looks so sweet! And yet, somehow, there is something mischievous in it. I love it!
Our next in the list is Pocahontas by Willy Anders. This one really looks badass and cool! I wonder how the Disney movie would change.
Our next Prince is Snow White by Ijoegonzalesv. The dress is really cool! Not only accomplishes a handsome prince, it also points to a lot of thinking about the design of it! Really well done!
Next, a simple, and yet compelling Esmeralda by Lazyeight. This is a really nice Cosplay. Sometimes in simplicity we find the best cosplays!
What if Cruella de Vil was a man? That would be spooky, but also alluring! And here you have the proof, thanks to Haku Cosplay.
Our next one is Merida by Squishlemon. Simple, but at the same time it looks somewhat difficult. Lovely and strong.
What if Maleficent was a guy? That would be spooky enough for me to start running away! Specially if he were based on the original evil one! Nice work from Keruuu.
One of the reasons to like Pocahontas is to see more skin on the screen. Nice job Disney Gender Bender! Nice Pocahontas!
Last, but not least, Ariel by Juny the Pooh. Funny Disney gender-swapped Ariel! I like the feel of it.

Custom Blythe Dolls: interview with Suedolls (part II)
Custom Blythe dolls can be really sweet. Today we’re going to follow up with the interview of a great Custom Blythe artist. Susana is the creator of Suedolls , a custom Blythe company. Susana designs and makes perhaps one custom Blythe doll each month depending on the time involved and the intricacy of her creation. She has graciously shared her thoughts on Custom Blythe with Rinkya Blythe lovers.
Rinkya: Do you ever customize fakes?
Susana: I prefer to work with original dolls, but sometimes I have customized fake dolls. The truth is that I have doubts about the current existence of factory dolls…
R: Do you collect Custom Blythe dolls aside from creating them?
S: Yes, currently I have a collection of only 3 girls… I would like to have more…but it takes so much time…
R: Do you ever trade them with fellow artists?
S: I can trade only 3 times every year, I like trading and I wish I could do it more often, I have already agreed all trades for this year
R: What is your goal or dream with your Blythe art?
S: I try to improve my work customization in order to give life to my dolls… I want them to look like human people, I am not satisfied with a pretty face, I need them to give the impression of life.
R: Do you have advice for someone who would like to begin creating their own Custom Blythe Dolls?
S: I always recommend seeking information on the forums, here in Spain there is a great forum called “VIDAS DE PLASTICO”, forums often organize meetups and you can also learn a lot by sharing information with other customizers, some of them are not in favor of sharing certain information, do not forget that for some customizers is their livelihood … So I respect that they do not want to share some secrets, I also have my own secrets!!! He he, you don’t need to spend much money, but customization materials must be of high quality, you can buy a small knife set and some molds for starters, I’m more in favor of taking the example pictures of real people.
R: What advice do you have for people who collect Custom Blythe dolls? How do you feel about collecting original Blythe vs. Custom Blythe?
S: I think collecting a customized doll is wonderful, but do not forget that it is a handwork, and therefore is not perfect
I recommend people who intend to adopt for the first time to attend a hangout for people from a forum, and see dolls customized by various artists, and if they have an opportunity, I also recommend attending a Blythecon, where they will be able to see the dolls and really examine them closely, and thus they will be convinced or not to buy their first customized Blythe.
I particularly do not like collecting stock dolls, they are nice, but they do not transmit anything special to me, sorry!!!
R: Finally, any words about Rinkya?
S: I recently discovered Rinkya webpage, and I think that is an excellent option to consider.

Custom Blythe Dolls: interview with Suedolls (part I)
Custom Blythe dolls can be really sweet. Today we’re going to present you a great Custom Blythe artist. Susana is the creator of Suedolls , a custom Blythe company. Susana designs and makes perhaps one custom Blythe doll each month depending on the time involved and the intricacy of her creation. She has graciously shared her thoughts on Custom Blythe with Rinkya Blythe lovers.
Rinkya: How did you become involved with Blythe? Did you work for the company and if so when and what was it like?
Susana: I discovered Blythe dolls in early 2013, for 3 or 4 months I researched about them, looking for pictures of Blythe dolls customized with curly hair (my hair is curly) and using them as profile pictures in my whatsapp account, in mid-July I decided to buy my first customized doll, she was a TBL (although I bought it as Factory), when she arrived, I thought she was so beautiful .. but over time, I realized it was not a good custom work
R: When did you decide to go out on your own and follow your own creative path?
S: I decided to open my first custom girl to look inside … to learn how everything worked, I dismounted her completely, I was very interested in the issue of changing the stock hair by reroots made by me, and it seemed to me that doing the carving and makeup would be very difficult, so at first I bought original Blythes and sent faceplates to a fellow artist, I did the rest, reroot, change of chips, eyelashes, bogleed, gaze correction, etc… but soon I decided I wanted to try and make a work completely of my own.
R: How many Custom Blythe dolls have you created so far? Which are your favorite creations?
S: 20 Blythes, I work out for a company, and I have a home and a family to attend, I have time only for one girl every month .. sometimes 2 .. but no more. All of them have something special in some way, sometimes it is the expression, others the hair …. it is hard to choose, but obviously the latest girls are closer to my goal .. I like them to have a completely human appearance.
R: What part of the custom process do you enjoy the most?
S: Carving, makeup and reroot are my favourite processes … to Sand and remove all the scratches, is the worst, I hate it!!!
R: Do you have any favorite Blythe Face plate that you use? Eyes? Hair, etc?
The model that I like in every way is the RBL .. but for the eye sockets which are too open, and when you make the corrections, the lower eyelid remains visible or you can even see the beginning of the next pair of eyes…
The EBL mold opens fine, and the eye sockets are smaller, the shape of the mold is not my favorite though, it is also a mold that has many imperfections, and we have to model it in excess to get a good result.
I prefer SBL mold rather than EBL, but it’s harder to open, so my boyfriend helps me with this part.
I don’t usually like stock eyes, I love eyechips by Puppelina and Heniferu, It’s also fun to design and create your own models buying basic and clear eyechips on sites like coolcat.
I replace the stock hair for reroots made by me using pbp method, I like to use high quality alpaca and mohair locks, you can find them on Etsy or ebay.
R: Do you create your own fashion costumes/clothes or do you order them from other artists?
S: I would like to creat my own clothes, and I have created some of them .. but unfortunately I don’t have time enough to do it, so I order them from other awesome artists.

Bento Friday: cute pigs bento box recipe
Today we have a very cute bento box recipe with pigs! It is really easy to make, so beginners, here we go! (You can also create this bento box with friends and your children).
Ingredients: boiled rice, 1 egg, sausage, nori, ketchup, your favorite veggies.
Mix the egg with some salt, and put it on a frypan. Scramble it, make small tiny pieces. Then take the boiled rice, and put it on a bento box, like in the picture. you can put the eggs on top of one of the mountains you’ve created with the rice, or you can create one completely done with egg and the other with boiled rice.
Cut the sausage in small circles, and with the nori we create eyes and the holes of the noses of the pigs. We then decorate our mixed egg and rice creating the pigs’ faces. With ketchup we create the cheeks.
To create a balanced bento, we accompany our piggies with our favorite veggies. If you choose veggies with different colors the bento box will look really cute!
