Next Big Nashville kicks off this week

This year's Next Big Nashville Music Festival and Conference, scheduled for Sept. 10-14, will feature a diverse array of artists including Superdrag and Whispertown 2000, the first signing to Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings' Acony label, according to a press release. Ben Folds has signed on to give the keynote interview.

The 3rd annual mixed-genre festival and conference, which showcases both indie and major label artists, also will feature performances by Jeremy Lister, Erin McCarley, Matthew Perryman Jones, Katie Herzig, Dead Confederate, The Dexateens and The Howlies, among others.
