Dolly Parton [ tickets ] is heading into fall with another round of North American dates to support her latest release, "Backwoods Barbie."

The country legend will return to the road Oct. 17 with a run of shows around Florida, and then stick close to the East Coast before wrapping with a mid-November two-night stand in Rama, Ontario. Details are listed below.

"Backwoods Barbie," billed as Parton's first mainstream country album in 17 years, surfaced in February and debuted at No. 17 on The Billboard 200, making it her highest debut ever. The tunes "Better Get To Livin'" and "Jesus & Gravity" have made waves on the Hot Country Songs chart, and a third single, "Shinola," was recently released. Those songs are streaming at Parton's MySpace page.

The album's title track will be featured in the upcoming musical "9 to 5," which is based on the 1980 film that co-starred Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Parton wrote all the music and lyrics for the production, which premieres Sept. 20 at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre. The musical is scheduled to hit Broadway next April.

Parton's music also shows up on Jessica Simpson's just-released country album, "Do You Know," which is named after the tune the veteran singer contributed.

"I'm excited and honored that she recorded my song, but equally as excited that I am going to sing on it with her as well," Parton said in a statement. "Guess you could say it's the 'blonde leading the blonde.'"

The awards on Parton's mantle include seven Grammys; 25 gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums; and the National Medal of Arts.
