Eagles tack on more shows
The Eagles have added a couple more dates to their US outing, stretching it into late November.
The tour's current leg continues tonight (9/16) in Little Rock, AR, and stops in Nashville; Milwaukee; Chicago; Minneapolis; St. Louis, MO; and Green Bay, WI, through the month's end. The band will then jump to November for recently announced shows in Tulsa, OK; and Worcester, MA. Details are listed below.
At some point, the Eagles will also make up a Houston date that was canceled last week due to Hurricane Ike. The concert is temporarily off sale pending further details for the rescheduled date, according to the Toyota Center.
The veteran country-rockers have been tearing up the road to support last year's "Long Road Out of Eden," their first collection of new material in 28 years. On tour, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit are playing quite a bit of material from the new album, as well as classic Eagles songs and hits from their solo careers.
The double-disc "Long Road Out of Eden" topped The Billboard 200 and the country albums chart in November, and remains on those charts after 45 weeks. The set has gone seven times platinum with the help of hit singles "Busy Being Fabulous" and "How Long," the latter of which scored the Eagles a Grammy for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
The band will be vying for Vocal Group of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards in November.
The Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 singles and five Grammy Awards, according to a press release. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" has reached 29-times platinum and is the best-selling album of all time in the US.
