Kanye Premieres New Songs for Jenny Lewis' Ears Only
Jenny Lewis knows rappers, but let's just say that most rappers aren't exactly sitting on their hands waiting around for Acid Tongue. The Rilo Kiley frontlady and solo star was coolly rebuffed by dirty dirty Bay Area legend Too $hort, as recounted in a 2006 interview with Pitchfork news. And, according to a report on Entertainment Weekly's Hollywood Insider [via Idolator], a recent meeting with Kanye West would suggest it's been a minute since he's seen The Wizard.
According to Hollywood Insider, Lewis was waiting for a plane on the way to Denver to play that Unconventional '08 show at the DNC when she spotted Mr. West milling about an airport lounge. She tells EW.com, "He looked over and said, 'Excuse me, would you mind listening to my new track?' And so he put his headphones on my head and I listened to two of his new songs. He had no idea who I was. I guess he was doing research."
I wonder if Blake Sennett ever hangs around the Panda Express in baggage claim playing the new Elected record for pretty girls.
Jenny recently kicked off a tour in support of Warner Brothers' September 23 release of her second solo LP, Acid Tongue. As for Kanye, he's had far greater airport-related concerns of late, and recently drummed up another version of "Love Lockdown".
