Roberts Blossom (born January 1, 1924) is an American actor and poet.

Bartholomew Roberts Blossom (he later dropped his first name professionally) was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He began acting on stage during the 1950s. During the 1960s, he formed Filmstage, a multimedia avante garde theatrical troupe.[1]

Tall, thin, and with penetrating eyes,[citation needed] he has portrayed authority figures and cantankerous rural types in a variety of film and TV roles. As he grew older, Blossom was often typecast as crazy old men in films such as Home Alone and Christine.

Blossom has retired from acting and lives in Berkeley, California, where he writes poetry. He has two children, a daughter (Debbie) and a son (Michael).
