Savanna Samson (real name Natalie Oliveros[1] on October 14, 1967 in Rochester, New York) is an American pornographic actress. When she started working at Scores Gentlemen's Club night club, she chose as her stage name Savanna in homage to the sister in The Prince of Tides (played by Melinda Dillon). After she began making movies she found out about the late star named Savannah and added Samson (from the biblical Samson) to differentiate.[2]

[edit] Biography

[edit] Early life

Samson was trained in ballet throughout her childhood and teen years. She became an exotic dancer at Scores in New York City in the mid-1990s. She also became a well known stripper personality on the The Howard Stern Show making multiple appearances.[3] Samson has Italian, Irish, Scottish, and German ancestry. She was raised Catholic, and professes she is still devout and practicing to this day, despite her career and lifestyle.[4]

[edit] 2000s

She made an adult movie titled Rocco Meats an American Angel in Paris with Rocco Siffredi in 2000. That year she also made an appearance on the TV series Ed in the episode entitled "Better Days.[5] In April 2002, Samson became a contract actress for Vivid Entertainment.[6]

Samson contributed chapter content to How To Have A XXX Sex Life (published by Regan Books),[7] and was the host of the 2005 AVN Awards.[8]

[edit] 2006

On February 3, 2006, Samson, Jenna Jameson, and several other Vivid Girls hosted the first Vivid Club Jenna Super Bowl Party at the Zoo Club in Detroit, Michigan, with a $1000 ticket price that featured a lingerie show, but no nudity or sex acts. When announced, the party caused controversy with the NFL who did not sanction this as an official Super Bowl event.

Samson started a wine company called Savanna Wines.[9], and also had a bit part in a Saturday Night Live sketch.[10] Soon after releasing her wine she was seen at several concerts selling her wine for fans of Deftones, Regina Spektor, and No Sham. She had also been dating Jorge Luis Aguilar Cruz of No Sham when he was still dating American Adult Film Star Janine Lindemulder. She addressed the situation on Howard Stern saying "I love them very both, I am just very glad I made someone's birthday special."

In December, it was announced that Savanna had joined the dating site Adult FriendFinder as a sex advice monthly columnist.[11]

[edit] 2007

On May 3, 2007, Savanna appeared on the "The Sexual Mystery" segment[12] of The Tristan Mysteries[13], a weeklong radio series exploring the Richard Wagner opera Tristan und Isolde. About her appearance, Savanna says, "I love opera and enjoy going to the Met whenever my schedule permits... I think I'm in a unique position to discuss the sensual aspects of Tristan und Isolde – characters and of opera in general."

On May 19, 2007 she co-hosted her first swingers' party, an exclusive upscale event for couples and single women in the lifestyle, with George of DoYouKnowGeorge.[14]

In the summer of 2007 she started filming a reality-based TV show for Showtime TV, entitled M.I.L.F. scheduled for late-2007 or early-2008 debut.[15]

Samson signed a recording contract with Koch Records, and reportedly had a single called "Kiss Me All Over" that was set to be released before the end of 2007, with an album to follow in February 2008.[16]

[edit] 2008

In September 2008 Samson appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as herself playing Katie Couric on a fictional spinoff show, "Daily Show Nights" (parodying Magnum, P.I. among other 1980s action series), featuring correspondant Jason Jones.
