Getronics N.V. is a Top 100[1] Global Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Company whose stated focus is on creating value for business through IT Workspace Management Services, Applications & Software Development Services. Since October 2007, Getronics has been a subsidiary of the Dutch IT & Telecommunications firm KPN. In June 2008, the North American operations division of Getronics was aquired by CompuCom.[1]

With a focus on delivering and implementing Microsoft and Cisco solutions, Getronics designs, integrates, and manages ICT systems & applications for many global and local companies and organisations, and has approximately 23,000 employees worldwide. The KPN subsidiary's headquarters will be moved in 2008 from Amsterdam to the Dutch regional business centre of Zoetermeer, with regional headquarters in Boston and Singapore.

The firm's history began with the incorporation of Groeneveld, Van der Pol & Co.'s Elektrotechnische Fabriek in 1887. Groeneveld installed control and technical equipment for the shipbuilding, utilities and construction industries. Over the next century, the company went through a number of transformations, becoming Geveke Electronics NV in 1985, then Getronics NV in 1988.

In 1999, Getronics acquired Wang Laboratories and with it an international market.

In 2005, Getronics expanded its capabilities in security and applications with its acquisitions of PinkRoccade and RedSiren.

On 2007-07-30, it was announced that Dutch IT & Telecommunications company KPN would buy Getronics for €766 million, combining customers, core competency, and revenues to form a €14 billion (US $20 billion) company heavily focused on the Benelux, US, & Asia-Pacific regions. [2] The acquisition was completed on 23 October 2007.[3]

In 2008, Getronics was selected as 2008’s Best Outsourcing Service Providers – The Global Outsourcing 100[2].
