The term French Creole can refer to
- Any of the French-based creole languages
- The people and culture in former French colonies such as Guadeloupe, Martinique, Louisiana or Santo Domingo (French Saint Domingue) which is the west part of Hispaniola where French settled in 1625 (France confirmed the name at the 1697 Treaty of Ryswick). Today, Santo Domingo is Haïti.
- Descendants of European plantation owners in Trinidad and Tobago colonized by Great Britain and Saint Lucia first colonized by France and simultaneously controled by Great Britain and France.
