Lee Horsley (born May 15, 1955, in Muleshoe, Texas) is an American actor best known for his starring roles on the television shows Nero Wolfe (1981), Matt Houston (1982–1985) and Paradise (1988–1991).

[edit] Early life

Lee Arthur Horsley was born in the small town of Muleshoe, the seat of Bailey County in the western Texas Panhandle, but he grew up in the Denver, Colorado, area. From an early age, he displayed his vocal talents in his church choir. After gaining recognition, he toured in stage productions of West Side Story, Damn Yankees and Oklahoma!. This eventually brought him to Hollywood.

Horsley began his TV career as detective Archie Goodwin in the 1981 NBC drama series Nero Wolfe, with William Conrad. He is best known for his starring role as the detective Matt Houston (ABC, 1982–1985). In 1982, Horsley starred in his first feature film The Sword and the Sorcerer. The film has received a cult fan base. He has continued to star in films and television but also spends time in theater work.

In 2006, he and Marshall R. Teague traveled the world in search of exotic hunting game on the Outdoor Life Network for the reality show, Benelli's Dream Hunts.

Horsely will be appearing in the upcoming sequel to The Sword and the Sorcerer called Tales Of an Ancient Empire.[1]

Horsley married Stephanie Downer in 1980. They had a daughter, Amber, in 1981 and a son, Logan, in 1983.

He is an expert horseman and outdoorsman and has participated in rodeo events over the years.

Recently, Horsley began writing western novels.
