Note: For 2005 Taylor Field eliminated the standing room seats and set the seating capacity at 28,800 Cite: from a news release from CJME Regina With 1,400 fewer tickets available, the CEO of the Roughriders isn't surprised to see the "sold-out" sign in the window for the upcoming Labor Day Classic. All 28,800 tickets for the annual clash with Winnipeg are gone, 10-days before kick-off September 4th. A call has been made to the CFL and TSN to lift the blackout. This year, Jim Hopson points out the team doesn't have the luxury of additional standing room in the south end zone at Taylor Field. He says some portable bleachers could be an option for coming years, and further down the road, part of the 'Riders' capital plan is to expand seating capacity at Taylor Field to about 32,000. Meantime, Hopson says ticket sales are picking up for the game against the unbeaten BC Lions this Saturday, since the Labor Day Classic is a sell-out.
