T-Mobile launches mobile-broadband router 10:56AM, Friday 3rd October 2008
T-Mobile has launched a wireless dock for its mobile-broadband dongles, allowing up to three people to share a single connection.

The Mobile Broadband Share Dock 100 acts as a wireless router, with the USB stick simply slotting into the top of the disc-shaped device.

T-Mobile says up to three people can share the wireless connection, which is probably just about as many people as the limited bandwidth of a mobile connection could

comfortably support.

The network will reportedly give the device away to customers who sign an 18-month, £20 per month contract, with a USB modem included, although a T-Mobile spokesman was unable to confirm pricing details.

Existing T-Mobile dongle owners will also be able to purchase the device separately.

T-Mobile was marginally the fastest network in our recent test of all five UK mobile broadband services with an average speed of just over 2Mb/sec in London.

Earlier this week, Virgin Media launched its first mobile-broadband service, which piggybacks on the T-Mobile network.
