RTX Prep New Album, Cancel Fall Tour
It's a curious thing to have an album with "Live" in the title not, in fact, be comprised of concert recordings (though Joan of Arc did it once, and they're probably not the only ones). Then again, it's rare to have a curious rocker quite like RTX's Jennifer Herrema.
The perennially unorthodox Royal Trux singer is readying her follow-up to last year's RaTX (aka Western Xterminator), and confusingly enough, it's a studio set entitled JJ Got Live RaTX. Though not from any particular performance, the tunes on JJ Got do indeed have a live feel, and they'll certainly lend themselves to the stage.
Unfortunately a "family emergency" has dashed RTX's fall tour plans, but the band is looking to reschedule those nixed shows for the coming spring. In the meantime we've got the not-actually-live JJ Got Live RaTX, due on LP and CD from Drag City on October 21.
JJ Got Live RaTX:
01 You Should Shut Up
02 How'd You Do It?
03 Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl
04 Cheap Wine Time
05 Virginia Creeper
06 Rainbow High
07 Mr. Wall
08 Hash
09 Birthday Song
10 Too Badd
